My outdoor cat has something stuck in mouth, drooling, can't eat.

From the photo her tongue looks like it may be swollen with a blister on the tip. Excessive drooling for several days can be from a burn on the tongue, something caustic that irritated her mouth, or something stuck in her teeth. Please give her wet food with added water, and continue to give water by syringe if she’s not drinking. I recommend a veterinary exam to find the reason for her symptoms, and get treatment. Cats can develop something called gingivostomatitis as well as feline oral resoptive lesions. These are both very painful and require antibiotics and sometimes steroids as well as dental procedures to correct. Also if there's any possibility she chewed something like electric cord or plant that can calls the signs as well. I recommend Dusk be checked out by a veterinarian as soon as possible. This is to prevent her from becoming dehydrated and malnourished from not eating. Do not give her any human medications as they are very toxic to cats and I'll make the situation worse.

He could have an upper respiratory infection, dental problem, or other medical issue. It is impossible to know the cause without doing an examination. If he has an upper respiratory infection, it could be contagious to the other outside cats. Make sure you wash your hands and change clothing after handling him before touching your indoor cats. If possible, catch him and take him to a vet for an examine and treatment.

I recommend to take him to the vet immediately he may have a foreign body (FB) in his mouth. Linear FB such as strings can be under the tongue. the fact he seems in distress and not eating/drinking will require him to be checked by a vet possibly under sedation to look thoroughly and safely in the mouth do not to try to do it yourself especially since he is not cooperative .Try and get him in a carrier to take him. Your cat needs to see his veterinarian ASAP. It is possible that your cat has a tooth abscess, severe periodontal disease, something lodged inside the mouth, an injury, or an oral tumor. Regardless of cause, this is a serious medical condition since it is preventing him from eating and drinking normally. Your cat is at risk of becoming dehydrated and developing a condition called hepatic liposis, which can lead to liver failure. Even going 24 hours without food can cause changes in liver functioning.

Poor Snuggles! Drooling can be a sign of pain, nausea, getting into something toxic, and dental problems in cats. Given that she doesn't want to move and is making weird noises, I would be concerned that she is in pain and may have been injured during the day. It would be best if she was seen by a vet right away for a health check.

It sounds like your vet diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection. Depending on the virus that causes this, the signs can appear in the eyes, nose or mouth. There is a virus called calicivirus that can cause sneezing and ulcers in the mouth. These can be quite painful and make the cat not want to eat. I typically recommend feeding a canned diet so she can lap it up rather than chew it. A/D is a good diet for this. It is made by Hill's and is available by prescription through a veterinarian. I also will sometimes prescribe pain medication to keep them comfortable and eating while they have ulcers in their mouths. I would recommend calling your veterinarian in the morning to discuss these things. We don't want her to go too long without eating.
