My injured cat went missing. Will he come back and is he okay?

I hope he's ok! I'd say chances are still good at this point - I recommend keeping food out for him, and set his litterbox outside so he can recognize his familiar scent if he's become a bit disoriented. I hope he finds his way home!

The fact she did return after 11 days makes be think that her being gone 2 days is too soon to say something bad happened. The risk to outdoor cats are: injuries from vehicles, other animals and finding her homes. The inured back leg could be from a fight, being hit by a car or falling from something. You can ask around and post fliers and see if anyone has seen her or know what might have happened. The only thing to do if she comes back is to have her spayed and keep her 100% indoors to prevent wandering off. I hope she returns soon!

You can try putting out food and your cat's litter box. This will sometimes entice them to come home. I would also check with your neighbors to see if they have your cat or have seen him. Once you find him he may need to go to the vet to be checked out since he has been attacked and since he was gone from home for so long. Good luck.

I hope Midnight comes back, but there is a chance she might now. Search the neighborhood and ask your neighbors if they have seen her. Check with the local SPCA to see if she's been picked up, and check with local vet clinics as well.

With a wound that severe, It would be best to bring him to your vet or an emergency clinic immediately. Any time a cat escapes and is gone for several hours or days, and comes back wounded, vet care is needed. Your vet can clean and treat the wound with medications, stutures, etc, and also check Naru over to rule out any internal injuries or injuries on the body that need care.

It is not unusual for a cat to come back home and they are good tracing back their way home. If he has a microchip you can check if he has been found at any of the local shelters. The wound doesn't look infected or Bloody more like a scrape that has removed hair. I would simply keep him warm and comfortable until you get to the vets. Try and feed little and often as they can over indulge when they gave been away a while.
