What are these hard, yellowish crusty scabs on my cat's skin?

If you were able to post a picture of this skin abnormality it would be very helpful. But based on what you are describing it sounds like either a large scab or eschar that has formed covering up a wound of some sort. Watch your cat closely to see if she is licking the area excessively. You may need to find someone to help hold her so you could more closely examine the skin. You may also want to try putting some Neosporin on it to see if that helps it heal. Without knowing what exactly it looks like it is hard to say what exactly it could be. My best guess is that she has some type of infection that is making her skin abnormal and is making her painful and uncomfortable. If you are unable to look at it yourself I would recommend taking her into a veterinarian where she can be fully examined. A scab means it's healing, so I would just keep an eye on it for now. If you see signs of infection, it gets bigger, it starts to bother her, or it doesn't appear to be healing, then have Fatina seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

As long as the skin is dry, not painful to touch and is not bothering Puhskinti, you should just monitor that area. It should fully heal up in the next few days. However, if the area is sore to touch, discharging puss or causing any discomfort to your cat, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment.

Skin lesions like you are describing can have a variety of causes, including skin parasites (fleas or mites), an infection (bacterial or fungal), allergies, or another underlying medical issue. I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his skin lesions, so he could start any treatment (antibiotics, anti-itch medications, parasiticide) that he may need. In the meantime, I would clean the area will diluted betadine if possible and then keep it dry, and trim his nails back as much as possible to keep him from scratching at it. Good luck!

This scab could be due to a mild infection or perhaps some mild traumatic lesion. You can consider just monitoring for now if it is just one. If this gets worse or just does not resolve, have her evaluated by your veterinarian then. If it’s on his neck it could be from his collar or something that rubs on that area. If it is just those 2 spots and there is no discharge from the area and Titan isn’t bothering them, I would leave the areas alone and let them continue to heal. I would keep his collar off for a few days to decrease more irritation. If the areas have discharge, or are getting bigger, I would take him to the vet. Good luck and kisses to Titan!
