My cat has hair loss, weight loss, and bloody stool. What should I do?

Hi there! What you're describing sounds more likely to be a skin problem of some kind (allergies, etc.) vs. an actual wound or something more serious, although of course it's always hard to say without being able to see her in person. It does sound like this is something that should be seen by a vet, since skin issues in cats that are severe enough to cause hair loss and raw spots will virtually always need prescription meds to treat effectively. But if she's acting normal otherwise (eating and drinking, relatively active, no other obvious symptoms), then I wouldn't consider it to be an emergency. It should be okay to call your regular vet's office and get an appointment scheduled for her when you're able to, hopefully within the next week or two. :)

Poor Baby! It sounds like she has something more serious going on with her, and it could be that her anorexia, vomiting, and blood in the stool could be caused by GI tumors, GI polyps, irritable bowel disease, or a foreign body, among other causes. I would take her back into the vet for a physical exam, blood tests, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so treatment can be started. She may have something that's treatable, and her current symptoms do not necessarily mean she is dying. Have her seen by a vet in the morning.

Pets with profuse bleeding from the rectum and/or vomiting blood need to be examined by the veterinarian quickly. These are very concerning signs - bleeding from the mouth can be a sign of a serious illness such as heart disease, severe liver or kidney disease, a clotting disorder, or severe dental problems. Combined with the fact that he is just laying down and pooping without realizing it, I would be very worried that he has a serious, life-threatening problem as this is extremely abnormal in cats - it often indicates that they are so weak and sick that they don't notice or care that they are soiling themselves. I would recommend getting your kitty to an emergency vet right away - he/she can do a thorough oral exam, and may also need to do blood work and x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what can be done to help him.

Vuk, your kitty needs to be taken to a veterinarian right away. This is an emergency. It is possible that lary was hit by a car, especially if there is fresh blood from the anus. Please find a veterinarian tonight, (even a large animal vet will help) to give fluids, take pain and give at least supportive treatment or euthanize your cat if she is very badly hurt. I am so sorry your cat is so ill.

I recommend taking Sophie to the veterinarian. Especially without knowing how old Sophie is it is difficult to determine the exact cause of the weight loss and confusion in her. At the vet, after doing a physical exam, they will most likely perform blood work to determine if Sophie has anything going on with her. There are a few different older cat diseases that can cause weight loss. Some older cat diseases can be anything from kidney disease, diabetes or even hyperthyroidism.
