Will warm water remove cat flea treatment or just spread it?

No, I think it's terrible and I don't recommend it. Give Princess a bath with warm water and cat shampoo to get the rest of it off. Wait at least two weeks before applying another flea treatment, I recommend Revolution or Advantage.

It takes 24 hours for it to fully absorb, which is why you aren't allowed to wash your cat until 24 hours have passed after application. You likely got the majority of it. You can wait until the morning, then go out and get cat shampoo to get the stink out. Princess should be fine.

I would check the instructions on the package of the product you applied for instructions but most say not to bathe within 24 hours of application. I would be worried about overdosing as she would have absorbed most of the chemical already but some may have washed off. I would wait to retreat and see if there are any live fleas in a few days. You can continue treating with grooming with a flea comb and treated baths until the package says you can retreat (usually a month later)

Yes, I would wash her with soap to get the medication off her skin. She is more sensitive so I wouldn't use that again. I don't want her to continue to scratch and lick as she may make a skin sore. If you used a topical preventative and applied it soon after bathing, it won't have been as effective as it should be. These produce use the oils in the skin to spread. When you bathe a pet, these oils are stripped and you have to wait for them to build up again. Typically, it recommended to apply a topical 3 days before or 3 days after a bath or getting wet. It should then be used monthly for at least 3 consecutive months, preferably year round. You should also treat the environment, since most fleas live off of the pet and only hop on for feeding. Vacuum everywhere the cats have been. Discard of the bag or empty the canister outdoors immediately after. Wash all bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric and dry in the dryer. Use a cat safe area treatment to prevent reinfestation. An oral preventative, such as CapStar, can be given to quickly kill any adult fleas on the cats. Get it from your vet or from the local Petco.

Bathing your pets in dawn dish soap will help dislodge the fleas, or you can buy a flea shampoo from your local pet shop. I would recommend using a monthly treatment to prevent the fleas if it is available in your area.

Yes I would be concerned, as this can be a sign of flea treatment toxicity. I would put her into a bath immediately, and gently wash the treatment off with water water and Dawn dish soap. Continue to monitor her for signs of toxicity, including vomiting, diarrhea, muscle tremors, hyper salivation, and depression. If you see any of those signs, take her into your vet immediately. I would make sure that the flea treatment you put on Annie was for cats and not for dogs, as it's very important to have a cat dose for cats because they are so sensitive to the flea medication. I would wait a few days before reapplying a flea treatment, and I would use a different brand than what you just used. I recommend using Advantage or Revolution.
