Is Gatorade okay for cats to drink? What about sugar and electrolytes?

Orange juice isn't bad for cats in that it isn't toxic for them, but it's not good for them to have in their diet. It has too much sugar in it, and is not beneficial at all to their health. The only liquid cats need to be healthy is water. I hope this helps!

If the vomit has not continued and the cats are all acting normally and eating, I don't think you need to be concerned. Short periods of pedialyte (up to 3 days) are unlikely to cause any adverse effects from the zinc content. If a cat was receiving regular supplementation I would recommend using a veterinary specific brand such as royal canin rehydration support. The electrolyte needs of humans and dogs/cats are very different as they do not sweat like people do and require a different balance of salts

Honestly it is better to give plain water however, if you do give Pedialyte you need to make sure you dilute it first. The electrolyte amounts in Pedialyte are made for humans and not animals and it also has a lot of sugar!! To dilute it: mix equal amounts of water and pedialyte together (ex: 1 cup of pedialyte with 1 cup of water). At 10 pounds, Poppy can have about 1 to 1.5 cups of the mixture per day - divide that into small amounts every 30-60 minutes. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

You can give diluted pedialyte or I would recommend giving a veterinary product such as NaturVet Pet Electrolytes Concentrate Dog & Cat Liquid Supplement, 16-oz bottle. This can be found at your local Petco or online. I would hold off on giving any electrolytes though as what you are describing does not sound like dehydration is the problem. Drinking from salt water pools is generally safe. A properly maintained “salt water” pool has about 1/10th the salt of sea water. Increased salt intake can make cats drink more and urinate more. Additionally, cats with heart disease, kidney disease, and those eating salt-restricted diets shouldn’t drink from saltwater pools. If possible, employ a pool cover or a barricade to restrict access. Always provide fresh, clean water for your cat. You can place a bowl indoors as well as on the way to the pool to deter your cat.

Water treated with water softener is usually safe for cats and dogs to drink. However, softened water isn't recommended for pets that have a restricted or sodium-free diet. If you are not sure whether you want to use your softened water, you can use bottled water for your cat to drink.
