My cat drank electrolyte water and vomited red. Should I worry?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

I was away for about 4 days, and had my dad feed and water my cats while I was gone. When I came back, I realized he had used a bottle of water I had laying on the floor to refill their water bowl. It was Life Water, which has added electrolytes. I also found what looked like it could possibly be bloody vomit on my floor as well, but it's very possible they might have ate something red and puked it up. Should I be concerned? They all seemed okay when I got home, but I'm worried.

I am sorry we didn't get to your question sooner. The Life Water is fine, no worries there! If the vomit has not continued and the cats are all acting normally and eating, I don't think you need to be concerned. If you seen additional vomit that looks bloody, though, then you need to take them to the vet.
