My cat's dog bite wound: What safe cream to use if they can't lick it?

Hi there. You can sure use the Fucidin cream. Just use a thin layer and apply it twice daily. Try to distract her after applying it so if she does lick it it will have at least been on there for a bit to have some contact time to work! If she licks it she will be fine :) Good question! Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Henny! I recommend using an Elizabethan collar (cone) or donut to prevent licking. Constantly licking will delay healing. She may need antibiotics but it's hard to know with out seeing a picture. You can try putting Mupirocin ointment on twice daily. Clean it with a wet warm cloth and a gentle soap twice daily. Although a picture of the wounds would help to determine more specifically the most appropriate treatment needed, bite wounds/injuries are infected for definition so antibiotics (like amoxicillin and clavulanic acid at 12,5mg/kg twice daily and painkillers -specifically designed for cats like Meloxicam or carprofen for example would help-. Disinfection of the wounds can be possibly started with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Stitches may be needed depending on the type of wounds.
