Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 years and 9 months old | 16 lbs

My cat was in a fight and he has a wound on his head and it was oozing for a few hours and I put antibacterial spray on and it scabbed but he is acting funny he can’t jump and I’m just worried its rabies, he is 8 and a half, great health until this, mixed breed, can’t afford a vet, no vaccines, outside cat, thanks

These signs unfortunately require an immediate check up to rule out possible rabies infection and make sure the infection has not penetrated deeper in the muscle and bone layers (skull). The signs you described may be neurological.
Further oral antibiotics may be needed.
