My cat is crying, pooping blood outside the box. Is he constipated?

I would be very concerned that Pancho could have severe intestinal issues associated with the ingested thread. I am so glad you cut the thread and did not pull, as pulling can cause a lot of damage internally. Unfortuately, there is nothing that I can recommend for his current symptoms, since they may be related to the thread. This should be addressed by a veterinarian. Watch for other symptoms such as lethargy, poor appetite, bloating, panting, or increased respiratory rate. I would be worried about constipation. If he is having trouble passing stool they will get blood and mucus. They will also vomit when they are constipated. He may need an enema to help remove the feces. They may be able to feel his belly and see if they feel hard stool present or they may want to take xrays. Try and encourage as much water as possible and if he will eat canned food try that. The high moisture content can help. IF it continues they will want to see him and give an enema and possibly put him on a stool softener.

It sounds like Victor is constipated. This could be caused by a foreign body, not enough fiber in the diet, GI polyps, or impacted anal sacs. Given that he is crying in pain, I would take him into the vet right away. He may need an enema or laxative to help him pass feces, and the vet can diagnose the cause of the constipation.

I'm sorry to hear that Gizmo is having some trouble! Before worrying about his pooping, first make sure that he is urinating normally. Male cats can develop urethral obstructions (blockages) that can prevent them from peeing. This is a life-threatening emergency that needs immediate treatment. Many cats with these blockages strain in the litter box and it can make it look like they're having trouble pooping. If Gizmo is urinating normally, it's possible that he's constipated. Be sure that he is drinking plenty of water. Adding water to canned food is a great way to get him to drink more. Also adding some canned pumpkin to his diet can increase his fiber intake, which can help him to poop. Megacolon usually occurs after chronic issues with constipation in a cat so if Bunty has had constipation issues then this is possible. Even one bout of severe constipation would be enough to cause megacolon. Bunty would need X-rays to diagnose megacolon. Frank blood like you are seeing in Bunty's stool is usually indication of an issue with the colon so something like inflammatory bowel disease could also be going on. It's important to have Bunty examined by a veterinarian to start treatment for these issues. He may need a prescription diet to manage his digestive issues. The diarrhea can be a result of his underlying gastrointestinal disease or a separate new problem. He may have urinated outside of the box as he is not feeling well.
