Is it normal for my cat to cry and change behavior after moving?

This can be normal behavior. Dogs can take about 2 weeks to get used to things while cats can take a bit longer. Give him attention, play with him and keep things out that are his. He may stay mellow, he may not but it is normal for them to have a behavioral change temporarily and sometimes permanent with a move. It can take your kitten a week or two to acclimate to its new surroundings. He has to get used to his new environment and used to the fact that he's not around his littermates and mother anymore. Just keep giving him plenty of attention and affection and he should be fine in no time.

Peewee may be lonely if he was previously living with two other cats. That may be why he's crying. I'd play with him a lot more during the day to tire him out, and you might consider getting another cat in the home to give him companionship. I hope this helps!

Since she was gone for so long, an examine with your veterinarian would be recommended. This may diagnose any underlying injury or infection. Frequently, either can be responsible for a sudden change in behavior. In the meantime, give her space and time to reacclimate to you. Don't force her to be held or pet. Offer treats and praise when she comes close. A pheromone product, such as Feliway Spray or plug in diffuser, may help to decrease any anxiety.

There maybe something about your new duplex that is causing stress" the smell, the sounds, the size? I would try to enrich her environment: play with her, get cat trees for her to climb, get beds she can hide in, get shelves you can put at a window so she can watch the birds (get a bird feeder) and I would consider getting the Feliway diffuser to help calm her. Ultimately if time and the above do not help her settle in, you may need to discuss anti-anxiety medications with your Vet. Which I would anticipate would be temporary. It sounds like a stressful time at your house. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. It is very common for cats to want to explore their surroundings. This is especially true of in tact animals. Often, neutering a cat will make him less interested in escape. The crying and trying to escape will also be much worse if there is a female in heat anywhere in your neighborhood. If this is the case, It will not stop until her is neutered or the female cat leaves. If it’s really important that Lumi stay in your room, try making your room appealing by adding a cat tower or high shelf for him to climb up to, fun toys, a scratching post, or an indoor cat garden (potted edible plants that are safe for cats to eat).
