My kittens have eye discharge and sneezing. What to do for chlamydia?

This is probably an upper respiratory infection. it's very common in young cats and is very contagious to other cats as well. It is treated with antibiotic eye drops/ointment and oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks. if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease. I advise going to your vet asap to start the treatment right away.

Hello. If your kitten is sneezing and has discharge from her nose and eyes, this could be either viral or bacterial. If it is viral the discharge is usually clear and Baby Orange should still be eating/drinking and playing normally, unless she has a fever. If the discharge is yellow/cream/green then there is likely a bacterial component that requires antibiotics. Depending on your area there are different antibiotic choices for bacterial infections including amoxicillin/clavulanic acid or doxycycline. I would recommend having your kitten checked by a vet to see if antibiotics are required, and which is the best for the area you are in, and also to get a proper formulation and dose, as improper antibiotic use can make Baby Orange very sick. This is usually treated with antibiotic eye drops and oral antibiotics and cats usually respond well to therapy. I recommend that you have Deimos evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If they agree that based on an examination, that seems to be the issue, they will likely prescribe medications to make him feel better. In the meantime, you may try to decrease his activity and rest him up which may help. Good luck and best wishes!

Your kitty likely is suffering from an upper respiratory infection and should be seen by a vet for an exam and deworming. It will likely need prescription antibiotics. In the meantime (until you can take her to a vet) you can tak a cloth with warm water an soak the eyes. This should help with opening them. You can then gently wipe off the purulent discharge.

If it is bacterial in nature, antibiotics may be indicated. If it is viral, supportive care and possibly antibiotics to teat or prevent secondary infections my be indicated. You can have Coco seen by your veterinarian for an exam, diagnosis and treatment, Use a warm washcloth to keep the eyes and nose clear. Make sure she continues to eat and drink to prevent dehydration.
