My cat only eats boiled chicken. Does he need vitamins or supplements?

Blue Buffalo food (along with most commercially available cat foods) is nutritionally balanced to meet minimum requirements. You shouldn't need to supplement with a vitamin. Anything else you would offer would just be for fun. Since he's not a fan of the wet food you could try offering him a couple of treats a day if you want to give him something he enjoys, but I would only give 1-2 small treats and would not recommend this if he seems at all overweight (9 lbs seems like a pretty ideal weight for an average Persian). Some cats also like to nibble on cat grass which you can grow from seed or purchase in small containers.

It is very difficult to make a homemade diet for cats because they have such specific nutritional requirements. Just eating chicken and fish is not a complete and balanced diet for a cat. You could talk to your vet about trying him on a hypoallergenic diet, like z/d or d/d. Those diets usually work with IBD and are nutritionally balance for a cat. Otherwise, you could use a website called Balance It to make sure his diet is balanced. You pick the ingredients that you are feeding and then they formulate a supplement that is added to the food. I would recommend a completely balanced cat food. I am not sure how old she is, but some recommended brands are: Royal Canin, Hill's Science, Evo (Innova) or Eukanuba. As long as they are eating a high quality diet made for kittens they do not need any extra vitamin supplements despite how much or how little they eat. If you want to give a vitamin you can but it needs to be one made for cats.

Wild cats are NOT domestic cats, and domesticated cats have very different nutritional needs. Wild cats also do not live as long and may have health issues related to poor nutrition. And while cats ARE obligate carnivores, they cannot get all their nutritional needs from only feeding one type of food (IE only chicken breast) as it doesn't provide a complete amino acid or nutritional profile for your cat. This is why many home-formulated diets require several ingredients and nutritional supplements to balance. It is important to feed your cat a balanced diet in order to prevent nutritional deficiencies, such as taurine deficiencies, which can lead to blindness, organ dysfunction or even death if not addressed. Commercial cat foods are best (and cheaper than formulating your own diet which may require several different ingredients and supplements to provide the right nutrient balance) as they provide your cat with the correctly formulated nutrients to prevent illness or deficiency. If you do want to feed a homemade diet, I highly recommend working with a veterinarian in person in order to formulate a diet for Meo's specific nutritional needs.
