Cat bite: swollen face, eye pus, antibiotics not working. What now?

It is very important to have Pussy Cat seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible if you suspect his eye has been damaged. The pus could be coming from around the eye, but if the cornea has been scratched, he could wind up blind, or even losing the eye if the injury is not addressed quickly. It sounds like Kitu may have a bite wouldn’t abscess. These usually need to be drained and given antibiotics to resolve. In the meantime you may consider applying a warm water and Epsom salt compress to the site. This may help with discomfort and also may encourage drainage. No, the swelling should not still be there after a week. Cat bites get infected very easily so Oliver probably needs antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to get this to clear up fully. The swelling you are seeing is either an abscess or cellulitis. He really needs to see your vet for this. It is tough to say when the initial injury was not seen by anyone. It sounds as though the wound is infected and Teva being on antibiotics is good so that it resolves. If it does not resolve, I would recommend culturing the wound to see if there are any resistant bacteria that need to be addressed. I hope Teva makes a speedy recovery! Puncture or bite wounds can get infected rather quickly and result in a fever which may be why he is not eating. They can form abscesses that require local treatment and antibiotics. Hello. There may have been a very small nidus of infection that remained after the first infection. Marley may need another round of antibiotics, but waiting until Friday should not be too problematic. I am sorry to hear about Clover. It definitely sounds like he needs to go to the veterinarian for this issue, especially since the swelling is worsening. We would worry about things like abscesses due to a wound, infected/abscessed tooth roots, and more. The vet will examine Clover and depending on their findings may recommend additional testing or treatment.
