Diarrhea can be a normal side effect of antibiotics, but does need to be addressed, especially if he is not eating well. They may need to see Zeus for a recheck to assess if it is a reaction to medication or change in his illness. Many time enrofloxacin (baytril) is the best antibiotic to treat an infection even in young puppies. Discuss risks versus benefit with your veterinarian, but it is often used safely in severe illness. The concern of baytril in puppies was puppies given more than 2 times the recommended dose for 30 days developed cartilage abnormalities. A puppy recieving the approriate dose should be be at very high risk this complication. Please call Zeus' veterinarian this morning about his inappatence and diarrhea. I hope he continues to improve.

This is probably an upper respiratory infection. it's very common in cats and is very contagious to other cats as well. It is treated with oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks (Not baytril). if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease. I advise going to your vet asap to start the treatment right away.

I would recommend to give them a full course without missing dosages as prescribed by your vet. If signs persist more than 48 hours since new start of treatment a check up would be necessary. So good of you to take on this little bunny! Pasteurella is very common in rabbits and most have it in their lungs, often a stressful event such as moving can lead to it causing an infection. It can be quite serious especially in a young or old rabbit. However, you are doing the right thing in having it treated. Antibiotics are limited in rabbits and baytril is a good choice for this type of issue. I cant comment on the dose as I di not know the weight of your rabbit or the concentartion, however, I imagine it is sufficient. It can take antibiotics a fair few days to start making an impact so it may just be a matter of time. I would suggest asking your et for an antinflammatory such as meloxicam also to help tge lungs. If the rabbut seems to be detetiorating do go back to the vet as he may require alternative treatment.

If his problem is caused by an infection than there should be some improvement after 7 days of Baytril. You should call your vet and give him/her an update as your vet may want to try a different antibiotic or a different medication. It is concerning that he has not showed any improvement and is still having trouble.

Hello. The range of doses for treating Pseudomonas is quite large, but we do recommend treating at the higher end. In some cases, this would mean your dog may need up to 400 mg per day ( 20 mg/kg/day ). At the very least, I would probably recommend the 75 mg every 12 hours or 150 mg once a day.
