My cat ate a blue-tailed lizard tail. How long until symptoms show?

The lizard your kitten ate may have upset her tummy. She may vomit, drool excessively, and not want to eat for a few days while the lizard is still in her stomach. If this behavior continues for more than 48 hours I would recommend taking her in the see the vet. Some lizard species may be toxic, most are not. Another concern is that Bacchu may become infected with intestinal parasites or liver flukes. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. These are symptoms of serious illness that should be addressed by your veterinarian. If she is drooling excessively, try rinsing her mouth with cool water for at least 15 minutes then monitor for redness or swelling in and around the mouth.

This honestly depends on the type of lizard. I'd monitor him for any concerning signs including vomiting, excessive salivation, anorexia, and lethargy. If you see any of them, have Simba seen by a vet.

It depends on the size of the piece of onion, but this normally would not be enough to cause toxicity, so I wouldn't worry too much. The biggest concern with onion toxicity is that it destroys the red blood cells. This takes a few days to happen though. You may notice vomiting when they first eat the onion, but other signs of toxicity won't be obvious until 2-5 days later. Signs of onion toxicity are a dramatic decrease in activity and pale gums. If you notice this, then it's best to have Tabbi seen by a vet as soon as possible. Otherwise, if she is completely normal after a week, then I would not worry about her having any problems related to the onion. I hope that helps and all is well with Tabbi.

Geckos are not toxic, but may carry parasites that could be harmful. At worst, you may see some temporary stomach upset. Consider a short fast followed by a b;and diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. My condolences on the loss of your gecko.

Unfortunately, most lilies are toxic to reptiles as well as small animals. Since the ingestion occurred a while ago, you'll need to monitor for symptoms such as lethargy, loss of appetite, decreased/increased thirst and a change in the color/amount of urates produced. Consider an exam with your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet. Baseline blood work should be submitted, then repeated in a few days or sooner if any of the above symptoms develop. Any treatment will be largely symptomatic.

The most consistent symptom is vomiting, which can be persistent (every few hours) or infrequent (for example every other day). As long as Tommy is not vomiting and he is not showing any other worrying symptoms like poor appetite, abdominal pain, difficulties to defecate you should continue monitoring him at home for another few days. If after that time he remains asymptomatic, it will mean that he is out of trouble.
