My cat ate BBQ sauce, vomited, and hasn't peed. What should I do?

my cat ate some bbq sauce and threw up and hasn't peed yet today .. he's vocal and moving around

Poor Leo! He could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or pancreatitis. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Hi, I think it is best to have him checked over. Acute vomiting can be secondary to a number of different things, pancreatitis or other acute gastro-intestinal pathology, but also toxicosis.. it's safer to have him checked over and if it's nothing too serious he will feel much better soon with some medications on board!

Vomiting can be caused by many conditions primarily gastrointestinal in nature such gastroenteritis and gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, dietary indiscretion or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. Because it has only happened once, it is fair to wait and monitor for now as this might have been an isolated episode and perhaps Regal is not sick. However, if this continues and he starts vomiting more frequently or develops other signs such as diarrhea, inappetence and abdominal pain or discomfort, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. In the meantime, it would be a good idea to be able to monitor Regal closely for the rest of the day to see if other signs will develop. Good luck and have a great day! Poor Sadie! That sounds like a lot of vomiting in a pretty short period of time - I don't tend to worry as much about 1-2 isolated episodes of vomiting, since cats do that from time to time, but 5 times or more in 24 hours is concerning. For this reason, I would really recommend taking her to the vet today if possible - he/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment.

I suspect the sauce is causing the diarrhea, and not likely the onions. There likely wasn't enough onions to cause issues. I can give you a home remedy for Maru to see if it helps. Withhold food for 6 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. My kitten is vomiting and not eating. What if I can't afford a vet?

Poor Sebastian! This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, pancreatitis, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Given that he hasn't eaten in 24 hours and is vomiting, a home remedy is not an option for him. Normally, it would be recommended that food is withheld then a bland diet is feb, but Sebastian is vomiting after not eating, so this home remedy would be unproductive and vets recommend a visit to the clinic if vomiting occurs in the absence of food when trying the home remedy. I would take him into a vet now, he should have medical attention. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. Oh my. These are very concerning symptoms I'm afraid. I would highly recommend taking Leo to your local vet right away. I am worried that Leo may have a toxin ingestion, foreign body obstruction, or even kidney disease is a possible cause here.
