Cat acting distant after meds, prefers mom. Does she still love me?

I would continue spending time with her and offer treats. Call her to sit on your lap. Also watch closely to signs she’s getting annoyed: slight flicking of ears, tail wagging that would indicate she doesn’t like how she is being pet. It is just as possible she’ll go back to showing you more attention. I wish you the best!

I suggest you try some Feliway products. You can even use the spray on your clothes prior to handling or getting near your cat. I think your kitty is upset with you and thinks you abandoned him at the vet. Leave him alone for a day or two, feed him his very favorite food and start petting him gently while he eats. He will come around and eventually like you again. Obviously he is very attached to you or he would not be so grumpy now. I think you might ask around and find out from other cat owners which vet they recommend, as Maddy may not be happy to go to your present vet. This does not mean your vet is a bad vet, just that Maddy might not like him. Give him lots of TLC when he lets you again and all will be well.

Hello, some cats can undergo different behaviors and may prefer different people at times. This is typically not associated with anything major. However, there are some diseases that may cause changes in attitude. This includes hyperthyroidism and rarely acromegaly. Other signs with these diseases include increased drinking and urinations, a ravenous appetite, and weight loss. This can be screened with routine bloodwork, so have him evaluated by your veterinarian for these. If normal, other causes could include a different fragrance from perfume, body lotion, or laundry detergent that you could be using. Hope this helps and best of luck.

It sounds like poor Pook has been through a lot lately! Give him time, he will trust you again. Leave out his favorite treats near where you are sitting, and he will come to get them. When he lets you pet him, praise him and give him more treats. He should settle down eventually.

Cats can be so hard to give medications to sometimes! They are total pains. Do you have someone who can help you? Someone to hold Kasper and offer her treats while you apply the medication. Leave out special food like boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in an attempt to get her to trust you again.

I would recommend having Lilly see a veterinarian. I would want to make sure it isn't medically related and more related to having the other cats gone. If they don't see anything medically going on I would recommend making sure you are spending extra quality time with her doing things she loves and then discussing medication with your vet.
