How long after Bravecto application can I bathe my dog or cat?

The ticks might still be attached but should be dead and very easy to remove. If it was an oral Bravecto it is fine for her to get a bath and I would think that regular shampoo should be fine. If it was a topical dose you need to wait 3 days after application to give a bath. You could manually remove the ticks or try using a flea comb.

I would wait at least 2 weeks after your applied the Hearts medication before giving him the Bravecto. In addition to the extra flea preventative, you should also consider treating your environment for fleas. This includes washing bedding, vacuuming, and washing any clothing Brody may have direct contact with. This will hopefully reduce the flea burden in your environment to help you get control of the fleas. Only about 5% of the flea problem is what we see on our pets, the rest of the problem lies in our environment as eggs and immature life stages of fleas. When vacuuming, remember to not reuse the same vacuum bag. When spraying your environment with insecticide, remember to use products that are safe for pets and even then, if possible, remove them from the environment for 1-2 hours. Since a bath wets the skin significantly and also softens it, I suggest you wait a few hours until your dog is completely dry , ie has a dry hair coat as well as completely dry skin. Once the skin is dry there should be no problem with application of the tick and flea treatment.

Hello. For the most part, this should be safe. I have seen cautions about waiting 24 hours to 1 week, but the longer wait may be to separate possible individual side effects, such as vomiting. I think, just to be absolutely sure, waiting another day or so before using the Bravecto would be prudent. You will have to wait at least 24 hours before bathing Kiki so that the product has time to dry on her skin. You can touch her during this period, just avoid the place where you put the flea treatment, and wash your hands after touching her. I hope this helps!

1 flea bite can make an allergic dog itch for several weeks so you may need medicine to treat the itching while the fleas get under control. You can administer the bravecto at any point when you remove the collar. A good bath will help also
