My cat used gingivitis remedy. Is belladonna causing side effects?

From this picture the level of plaque does not justify the gingivitis, as there is not much plaque on Mimi's teeth. So it could be that the nature of gingivitis is viral, or it could be just immuno-mediated. Further testing is required to understand if the cause is a virus. If these test are not available, then symptomatical treatment is advisable. Flagyl is an antibiotics that we commonly use for gastro-intestinal bacteria so perhaps I would consider a different antibiotic with a broader spectrum.

Usually you would not need Bach remedy or any other herb to help your kitty recover from dental surgery. Your vet will give her antibiotics and pain medication and she should be ok. i would not give her anything by mouth after a dental surgery as there may be open wounds and you could cause an infection or contaminate the mouth. It is safer to just not manipulate her mouth. Your kitty will feel so much better after having her teeth cleaned and damaged teeth removed. Give her lots of TLC if she wants it, and all will be well. Glycerine acts as a stool softener in cats and can cause diarrhea.

If Bella has lost teeth on the right side of her mouth, that would be very painful for her and cause her not eat. It would also make her lethargic and unable to clean herself properly. I would take her into a vet now. She sounds very sick from losing her teeth, which could have been caused by severe gingivitis and rotting teeth. She will likely need pain medications and antibiotics, and the vet can treat her mouth. Do not give her any human pain medications, many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Antiseptics are generally not indicated, because studies have shown that they end up causing more damage than good and can delay wound healing. What you're describing does sound like Merri has some dental disease. The red line along her gums is likely inflammation that is the result of bacteria under the gumline. I commend you for brushing her teeth once or twice weekly. That is more than most cat owner are able or willing to do. I would recommend trying to find other dental health products that may help decrease her dental disease. There are a number of products that the Veterinary Oral Health Council has tested and approved for cats to help prevent and treat dental disease. Based on the photos, it looks likes the lesion on Vivian's mouth is getting a little worse. I'm thinking she either has an infection that is the primary cause or is having an allergic reaction with a secondary infection. Unless the issue becomes chronic, I would not suspect allergies. At home tips would be to wash (and rinse) the area with a plain antibacterial soap daily. Take care not to get this in her mouth as she may vomit. You have to be careful with cats applying any topical medication since the ingest the product when they groom. I would think Vivian licks the side of her mouth so I would not recommend to apply anything to it. Try switching her food to a different protein source and see if that helps. It will take at least one month before you know if it works or not. Keep in mind if this diet change does not work, that is does not mean that food allergies are not present. Pets can have many types of food allergies. There's also a potential for environmental allergies. If the lesions continues to worsen, take her in to see the veterinarian.
