Why is my rescued baby rabbit pooping badly after kitten milk?

This diet is not good for your baby rabbit, she might not survive because her gut flora might change for the worse. i would recommend feeding her kitten milk replacer only, you can find it in any pet store.

I think the bunny looks fine. Just because it is smaller does not mean it is not healthy. You can add goat milk (regular, not low fat) to the kitten milk replacer and a pinch of acidophilus (aka Probiotic) to the formula to promote healthy gut flora. Formulas vary depending on region. Avoid Esbilac and any puppy formulas. FEED TWICE A DAY ONLY and let them have free choice alfalfa hay. At 3-6 weeks of age they should be eating about 13-15 cc/ml each feeding (two feedings a day) but it may be LESS depending on size of rabbit so they little one may only eat 8-12cc. That is OK. Hello. There are just too many questions that need to be answered in order to offer any advice. The best thing is to have your bunny examined by a veterinarian who can check Laddu for intestinal parasites, discuss the diet you are feeding her & possibly start her on a Critical Care diet & possibly antibiotics. Gastrointestinal (stomach) upset is common in rabbits and can have many causes: ingested foreign body, infection, parasites, pain, dental disease, metabolic disorders (liver, renal), stress and more. If this is persistent, a veterinary visit is recommended, sooner than later. Keep diet consistent and try to limit sugars and carbohydrates. The more hay they eat the better. Good luck.

Bunny may be constipated. You can get laxatone over the counter and administer 1/2-1 tsp by mouth twice a day to help move the stool along, but since Bunny seems uncomfortable now, bringing him to your vet for an exam, an enema to clear out his colon, and lactulose to give at home as well as a prescription diet called Royal Canin GI Fiber Response to keep this from happening again would likely be the best option. I would consider returning her immediately. It is never advisable to take on an unwell pet, especially if you have other pets at home or are unable to provide the healthcare they require as and when needed. Pet ownership comes with responsibilities to protect and care for them which at times will require financial input for vetcare and medications

Moist stool can be the result of intestinal problems (dietary, parasites, bacterial), metabolic (liver, kidney), stress, inappropriate nutrition, reproductive disease (uterine infection, neoplasia), spondylosis, and other problems.
