My baby rabbit isn't pooping. What should I feed it to survive?

A veterinary clinic or wildlife rehabilitation society should be contacted as soon as possible for assistance. Try to keep water intact high to stave off dehydration. I think the bunny looks fine. Just because it is smaller does not mean it is not healthy. You can add goat milk (regular, not low fat) to the kitten milk replacer and a pinch of acidophilus (aka Probiotic) to the formula to promote healthy gut flora. Formulas vary depending on region. Avoid Esbilac and any puppy formulas. FEED TWICE A DAY ONLY and let them have free choice alfalfa hay. At 3-6 weeks of age they should be eating about 13-15 cc/ml each feeding (two feedings a day) but it may be LESS depending on size of rabbit so they little one may only eat 8-12cc. That is OK. Look for Oxbow Critical Care for Herbivores. Your veterinarian may stock it or you may be able to find it online. If Fluffy is not eating at all, this should be considered a veterinary emergency. Have her physically examined by your veterinarian, a vet experienced in treating rabbits or at the nearest veterinary ER. It is critical to get her eating normally to keep her gut moving. Gut stasis can be life threatening in rabbits.

Make sure he gets enough fluid , you may have to syringe the water into your rabbit. If you can get "Critical Care" you can mix that with water and feed him this if he stops eating. You can also take some of his pellets (or hay) and grind them into a powder, mix it with water and syringe it to him. This will tide him over until Monday when you see the vet with her. Once the intestine works again he should poop again.

Discontinue feeding milk and egg yolks to Yuki. These are not appropriate foods for a rabbit. Stop the colic-aid as well. This may interfere with her gut. Rabbits require a high fiber diet to maintain gut health. Feed as much timothy hay or similar grasses as she wants to eat. She can eat alfalfa until she is about 7 months old. Offer a commercial pelleted diet as well. You can moisten it to make it easier for her to eat. Have her examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits to diagnose illness or injury. If she is dehydrated, she may need supportive care to get her eating and acting normally.

Hello, again. There is hardly any nutrition in your homemade formula, & the rabbit will starve to death if you do this. If the baby rabbit is still nursing, it needs milk until it can switch to a herbivore diet. Lowfat cow's milk does not have the appropriate nutrition profile for baby mammals. I recommend kitten milk replacer. If you do not have access to kitten formula, you can make a homemade formula: 1/2 cup whole milk 1 egg yolk 1 drop pet multi-vitamin 3 crushed Tums (antacid) Mix in a blender and replace every 2-3 days. This homemade formula should only be used until a balanced pet formula can be obtained.
