No, I recommend to have Harlem examined immediately. This could be an emergency situation. When pets suddenly develop a change in their breathing pattern, they need to be examined immediately. This could certainly be due to asthma which is not treated with antibiotics but rather it is treated with steroids and other medications. This disease can be exacerbated by environmental irritants such as aerosolized sprays, candles, smoking, pollen, and dust. Diagnosis is typically confirmed with an x-rays and by sampling the lungs as well as making sure that Aspen does not have lung worms with a fecal exam. If Aspen is having a difficult time breathing, then he needs to be seen by her veterinarian immediately. Medications to treat this disease typically involve antibiotics and likely steroids. Other wise, practice avoiding any environmental allergen at home, and don't expose him to any strenuous exercise of high stress situations. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Poor Stewie! Since it sounds like he's having some trouble breathing and is very uncomfortable, I would really recommend taking him to an emergency vet tonight. If he has asthma, he may need injectable steroids to help open up his airways and make it easier for him to breathe. If these symptoms are new, it's also possible that he may have some other problem causing him to feel ill and act lethargic. In that case, he may need blood work or x-rays to help determine the problem.

Unfortunately there could be a number of diseases that are causing these symptoms you're describing. Like you, I suspect that this is not depression, as this is really a rare occurrence in our pet animals. Tux could be suffering from a heart or lung condition that is making it difficult for him to breathe, or he could be in pain and that is keeping him from wanting to move. He is going to need to visit his vet urgently. A thorough physical exam will likely help to start to get to the heart of the matter, and then he will likely need some diagnostic testing, including blood work and xrays. Don't delay, he needs to be seen and get a diagnosis and treatment plan.

I'd be concerned that Sock may have feline asthma. It would be worth a trip to the veterinarian to have X-rays done again on Sock to look for asthmatic changes. Asthma in cats is fairly common and can be treated with both inhalant medication and oral medications. An Aerokat inhaler can be ordered to help administer inhalant medications if necessary. What a gorgeous cat! I am sorry he is not feeling well. Licking his lips is a sign of nausea. Even though he may not be vomiting today he is showing signs that he is still not feeling well. If he is eating (even small amounts) and drinking water as well as interacting with you, urinating, and defecating than he may be able to wait until Wednesday. However, if Michaleto's breathing continues to be abnormal at all to you this may be a sign that he is in pain or has some sort of disease of his heart or lungs. Any abnormal breathing - whether fast or hard - should be seen as soon as possible by a veterinarian. I hope he is feeling better soon.
