How much should a 2-month-old kitten sleep? Is lots of sleep normal?

Kittens and puppies can spend up to 20 hours per day sleeping. So this is quite typical. If the kittens are not wanting to eat much or drink much and seem to be experiencing poor weight gain then I would get concerned. Otherwise, if their energy level is normal when they are awake and food / water intake are normal, I would consider this quite normal.

The remaining g hours are typically broken up into bursts of energy and other activities such as eating and drinking. If ginger is not waking up to eat, drink or go to urinate / defecate I would have her examined by a vet. At this age, she should now begin her first series of vaccines as well. Kittens will tend to sleep more because they are growing, and they can actually sleep as much as 16-20 hours a day sleeping. It's good that Pickle is eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom normally, and it sounds like from your description that she is doing what kittens normally do by sleeping a lot. I would not be worried about it, play with her and interact with her when she's awake. I hope this helps :-)

Hello, it really depends. They will likely less than an older cat but will take frequent naps. When there awake they will likely be playing and eating. As they age, they may decrease their activity and sleep more, especially after being neutered. You should expect them to nap frequently. Hope this helps and best of luck.

If he is otherwise doing well, he is likely fine and this is not anything important. Kittens can sleep up to 18-20 hours a day, so it is normal that they appear to sleep all the time. If she is skinny, that could be caused by intestinal worms, which are very common in kittens. I would give her a deworming treatment such as Panacur, which you can get OTC. You will need to give a deworming treatment every two weeks until she is three months old, then once a month until she is six months old, and then every three months after that. I would leave a kitten formulated food out for her at all times. To help her wean and get used to kitten food, I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until she is eating the dry kitten food only.

As long as his breathing rate is able to slow to a more normal rate, like 30-50 breaths per minute, and he is otherwise acting normally (eating/drinking well with a good energy level), he will likely be just fine! If he even seems distressed with his breathing, or he is coughing or sneezing a lot, he should be seen by a veterinarian. I hope this is helpful!
