How to stop a stray cat from entering my house and harming my chicks?

It would be best to just keep the strays and your pets separated from each other, especially as strays may not be vaccinated and may spread illness, parasites or other illness to or from your own pets. Trying to catch the stray cats so they can be spayed, neutered and vaccinated is a good idea as well, or contacting a local shelter to try and help you.

Unfortunately if you are planning on keeping him indoor / outdoor, it is very difficult to keep him away from other stray cats. I would recommend ensuring his vaccinations (Feline Leukemia, Rabies and FVRCP) are all up to date to prevent transmission of these diseases. There are motion activated sprinklers you can get that will startle cats and keep them away from your property and you can find these online quite easily. Really, keeping him indoors is the only 100% way to keep him away from stray cats. I hope this helps! I'm sorry to hear your cat ran away! It would be best to place out a carrier or humane trap with food in it to see if you can try to catch him, or leave out a dish of food nearby for him to return to. Cats are enticed by smell, so making it smelly or using something such as heated chicken may help, however you also run the risk of attracting wild animals as well. Letting any local animal shelters or neighbors know to keep an eye out for your cat may also help alert you to where he is so you can catch him. As for in the house, making sure each cat has their own space to rest and relax when you can't watch them, and that they can all get to food, water, litter, etc without being bothered by another cat can help reduce fighting. A pheromone diffuser such as Comfort Zone can also help with intercat aggression. If the aggression is continuing or worsening, a vet exam to rule out pain or illness which can cause behavioral changes is best as well.

The best thing you can do to help this family of cats would be to have your parents contact a local animal control officer, who can rescue these cats and bring them to a shelter so they can get any necessary treatment (deworming, flea treatment, and appropriate food), and be put up for adoption. These cats, especially as strays, are likely not vaccinated and can be dangerous to handle, and can spread diseases amongst themselves but also to humans. I hope this is helpful! He is cute! The only thing you can really do to prevent him from going to your parent's house is to not let him outside. Once he is outside, you really can't stop him from going over there. Your parents can stop feeding him and letting him inside but he still might go over there out of habit.

You should be able to borrow a Have a Heart trap or other safe trap to catch her. Then you can take her in the trap to get treated. Put food inside the trap and leave it near to where she is. When it’s dark and she’s hungry she should go inside and won’t be able to escape. This Is safe for both you and her. Once she’s treated they may spay her and release her back to your area. Most cats will adapt to a new home if kept indoors for 4-6weeks then allowed out supervised for 2-3weeks and can be quite an undertaking for a new owner once cats have been acclimatized to fending for themselves and you should check to see if the new home is in a position to take this on
