Can chickens eat marshmallows? What are safe treats for Easter?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female

I've heard that chickens can pretty much eat anything, but can they eat marshmallows? I wanted to give them something nice for Easter but there may be a better alternative I could use. Do you have any recommendations of a treat for my seven chickens?

Sugary foods are generally not recommended for domestic chickens. However, one or two mini marshmallows will likely not cause any problems. Follow the link for a list of treats for your flock.
