Why does my bird have bumps near its eyes and a swollen, red bottom?

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). Giving the upper eyelid lesion as well a skin infection is more likely. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Your vet may want to perform a skin scrape to identify underlying cause more specifically. Disinfection can possibly be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. If a female, egg binding should be considered. Clumped stool in either sex could be due to liver, renal, intestinal and or infectious diseases. A veterinary visit is recommend to assist in a diagnostic/treatment plan. Providing supplemental heat in the 80-85 F range will give some comfort but is not a treatment. Good luck.

Hello. Sorry Pearl is having this issue. Yes, I would take her to see the vet. That looks very sore and abnormal. It is hard for me to tell what may be going on based on the photo. It could be the beginning signs of a prolapse. It could be trauma or signs of parasite infection. Regardless, you need to get her to the vet for an exam so she can get the proper treatment. The lesion is probably due to self scratching, but could be in result of a skin infection, sinus pressure (bird's sinuses surround the eye), bruising, feather mites and more. Monitor for now but if get larger or really seems to be bothering him, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.

Poor Smokey! Those look pretty red and inflamed, so I'd recommend bringing him to a vet to have it examined. Infections on the skin itself, an abscess (infection under the skin), cysts, tumors, parasites and more may all be possible causes, so having it looked at, especially if it's growing in size or bothersome, is best.

Although a picture of it would help to determine the underlying cause more specifically, that is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to an infection.
