Western kingbird. Upper beak has a very pronounced hook. Does it need to be trimmed and does it have a blood supply near the tip?

It may need trimming, but it would be best to have Louie evaluated by your avian veterinarian. Overgrown beaks can be caused by trauma or nutritional deficiency. If you have never trimmed a beak before, it would be strongly recommended to have the bet do it.
