Get It Today
Along with cat food, toys and a cute little collar with a bell for your kitty, you might also want to get cat furniture and scratchers to help them stay comfortable and engaged.
There are many different strategies you can use to stop your cat from scratching the furniture. Try putting two-sided tape or a scat mat on the furniture or the ground where your cat stands to scratch. Look for scat mats in our pet technology deals. There is also cat scratch spray, which makes your cat think they have already “marked their territory” in that spot. Whichever option you choose, place a cat scratching post next to the furniture they like to scratch to give them an appropriate alternative.
Cat scratchers come in a variety of materials, including corrugated cardboard, cork, wood and rope. Many cats are attracted to cardboard cat scratchers because of their satisfying shred, while rope is popular thanks to its rough texture. Cork and wood cat scratchers are less common, but wood is a popular material for other cat furniture. Check out our cat clearance section for deals on all sorts of cat supplies.
Cats use scratchers for exercise, stretching and keeping their nails healthy. While cat scratchers don’t technically trim or sharpen their nails, it does remove the outer sheath to reveal new nails underneath. Cats also scratch to “mark” their territory as they would in the wild. Without a cat scratching post, they may end up performing this natural behavior on your furniture instead.

ways to stop cats from scratching furniture?
My kitten likes to scratch my wooden chair, doors, and occasionally the door frames. I bought her a wooden cat scratcher with catnip and all she does is bite, sleeps, and lays on it. Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good scratching post? Sisal rope, Sisal carpet, and etc?
What can i do to keep my cats from scratching on leather furniture?
Our cat is chewing up our furniture and expensive handmade blankets. He can chew a cardboard box down to nothing. He also drools a lot. We are desperate for solutions.
My kitten Cleo just got her new cat scratcher a week ago but hasn't used it for scratching yet. It has a toy attached and she loves to play with that but not scratch. How can I get her to scratch it instead of my pants or couch?
My cat will not stop scratching our new stair carpet. He did it with the old ine too. We have posts and mats for him but he prefers the stairs. Anything we can do to stop him?
My cat has a serious and obsessive scratching behavior. I have tried EVERYTHING. She is neutered, tried ALL TYPES OF SCRATCHING POSTS/MATS, tried deterrent sprays, covering the area she scratches, ect. She has an issue scratching the carpet of my home specifically in all the corners. I have covered them all except one because she moves what is covering it. She has ripped up my carpet and she will literally sit there for HOURS scratching when I'm not around! She is doing it for fun! Please help!
Hello, My cat keeps scratching the fabric coach, I've tried covering it with thin foil for about a week, She scratches it once the foil is off it. I've tried sticky tape even spraying (gently) with water, I have scratching posts around it and around the house(she uses them too) how can I stop her from scratching the couch? Thank you

My cat is super active at night for a few days, she keeps scratching the sofa and running around. She is spayed. We have two scratching cardboards and a cat tree for her. We just moved to a new apartment for 3 weeks and she seems accommodating quite well for the new environment.
