When purchasing guinea pig supplies for your piggy pets, two of the first things on your list should be a guinea pig food bowl and a guinea pig water bottle or water bowl. Petco is your one-stop shop for all the guinea pig supplies you need.
Most guinea pigs will be happy to drink from a water bottle or from a bowl, though it can be difficult to switch drinking options once a guinea pig gets used to a certain method.
It really comes down to your preferences. There are benefits and drawbacks to bowls and guinea pig water bottles. Bowls are easier to clean, but they can get dirty more quickly. Guinea pigs don’t mind getting a little messy, and you may find bits of food or hay floating in the water bowl. Your piggies may also accidentally flip over lighter-weight bowls, which not only makes their enclosures wet but could also lead to dehydration if you don’t refill their bowls quickly. This is why it’s a good idea to use heavy water bowls.
Water bottles don’t require you to open up your guinea pig’s enclosure in order to fill. They also sit outside the cage, leaving more room inside for guinea pig toys and habitat accessories. However, they are more difficult to clean and may begin to leak over time. You also need to check water bottles every so often to make sure they are functioning correctly.
Guinea pig water bottles are a completely appropriate and acceptable way to provide water for your pets as long as you use them correctly. Fill them only with water—tap water is fine as long as it is safe enough for humans to drink. Make sure to position your water bottle so that your piggies can easily access the bottle. You can also use hamster water bottles or rabbit water bottles as long as you don’t come home to find smaller bottles empty at the end of the day. You always want to make sure the water bottle is big enough to not run out before you can refill it. If you have multiple guinea pigs, you may even want to include two water bottles in their enclosure just to be extra sure they have what they need.
Finally, clean your water bottle weekly to make sure bacteria don’t build up in the bottle.

I give her carrots as well as hay and oxbow baby food, she lives with an adult 3 year old pig I think they still learning who’s the alpha but I just want make sure I keep her hydrated, they sleep in the same igloo so they getting along and I separate the adult from her so she can eat, the adult might be territorial so I separate for food time
hi, i just got 2 guinea pig pups, and i want to make sure i am doing everything right. they have been eating, but today is the first time i noticed one drinking out of the bottle. the other one hasnt drank anything yet, and hasnt come out for a while. im worried that there may be an issue
My guinea pig is dehydrated (faulty water bottle not allowing water to get out and crazy hectic weekend not allowing me to realize water level hadn’t gone down or noticing poor baby’s symptoms). She’s lethargic, not eating, & sunken eyes. She’s nibbled a little on spinach but not truly eating. She’s drinking on her own though. Do I need to syringe feed her pedialyte or is drinking water enough to re-hydrate her?
Is there a brand of food that dont contain the pellets, I've noticed that my guinea pig doesn't like eating the pellets in her food...she eats everything but the pellets & we end up throwing the pellets out so we refill her dish...we give her hay as well but I'm worried that she might not be getting enough food...she's not losing weight so far.
How to prevent uri in guinea pigs
I switched my guinea pigs to Kaytee Lavender bedding. They both have food, hay, and water. Two bowls of food, two bottles of water, and two hay containers. They both seem to be chewing on the bedding and I'm worried. Should this be a concern? I'm worried about their digestive system from chewing on the bedding. My girl friend said her guinea does it too when she's bored, could this be why they are chewing it? They share a cage.
Is a blanket bedding good for my guinea pigs
Hey I just got a guinea pig and he’s 5 weeks old, he chews on everything... like EVERYTHING...his water bowl for example... I need to make sure nothing is wrong, also he has bitten 2 people already. Including me! Is there a way to prevent him from doing that or teach him its wrong?
Why can't I give my guinea pig Vitamin C drops in their water?
my guinea pig poop is stringy
My husband accidentally filled our guinea pigs water bottle with the wrong bottle and they have been drinking a protein shake for a few hours now. One of them is pregnant as well. Will they be okay?
