It has worked ok but I recommend the better version that kaytee sells that is a hay and food dispenser because Guinea pigs chew allot and they eat this one over time. Otherwise great product. We hung ours from the top so they can’t eat the plastic so easily but the Timothy hey hangs down.

My two guinea pigs like it. It seems safe (some hay racks can injure or kill because they can get their head stuck if the slots are too big). If you stuff it full enough they have to work for their hay and gives them stimulation.

The openings are too narrow, the hay can’t get through so the guinea pigs have to really wrestle with it and end up pulling it down just trying to grab a snack

our 2 guinea pigs struggles to get hay out and ended up making a large mess pulling it out and eating it off the ground instead. had to remove the lid and add clips to get it to stay on the cage. It only kind of did its job

My guinea pigs love the chew sticks and it helps with their teeth and the hay holder has drastically cut down on wasted hay and a big mess!

You havr to make sure you put the hay in upright. Otherwise they struggle to get the hay out of it, and I always leave the lid off. It encourages stretching of their backs.
