Dangerous design.
First attempt to refill and the glass broke in half directly at the location of the spring when I went to remove the spring. Sliced through my finger.

Leaks too much
Constantly leaks, no matter how you try to reposition it. It isn't a vacuum issue either, it seems to be a seal issue.

Dirty
Gets dirty very quickly with backwash. I don't exactly feel like buying a $4+ bottle brush to clean it. I don't have to clean the plastic bottles. Doesn't seem to leak. Duck gets in the way and ended up removing it.

Nice Bottle
I use this bottle for my two guinea pigs and it works great. They both use it and I've had no problems with leakage. Love that it's glass and has a cute ducky water indicator! I recommend the larger size as the smaller one is more suited for tiny critters, and less water comes out with each draw.

Do not buy
I can't even use this for my ferrets it leaks so much it will flood their cage. The whole bottle leaks in less than 30 mins after refilling it. Use any other rodant water bottle. Do not buy this product.

Hi there! Water bottles will always drip a few times after they are filled. This is because a vacuum needs to form. Even if the bottle is completely filled, there is a small amount of air in the nozzle. The bottle will drip to balance the air in the nozzle. We recommend turning the bottle over by the sink right after the fill-up and waiting for the initial drips to occur which will form the vacuum. Once the vacuum has formed, walk the bottle over to the cage and insert it or attach it.

Buy this if you'd like to get leaky product.
I just bought this and seemed very confident given the fact they have a DRIP RESISTANT tube. Unfortunately the only thing this product can do well is DRIP. Doesn't matter if I filled it up all the way or to the maximum line, it just Drips. They should rename this product to Kaytee Chew Proof 12oz DRIPPER. Given all the reviews similar to mine, Kaytee is aware of this but continues to just tell customers this isn't a typical experience. I will be returning this product, hopefully Petco changes who they partner with.

Do you have a brush or other cleaning equipment for this bottle? I have 3 guinea pigs and their bottles get dirty quickly and just rinsing them out doesn't always help.
- I bet you could use a baby bottle brush to clean them.

Air bubbles keep getting stuck in the sipper tube and are stopping water flow, any suggestions?
- Hi there! Please note that in order to work properly, the bottle needs to be filled completely to the top, then flipped over for about 30 seconds for a vacuum to form. If the bottle is not filled completely, it will not work as it should. - I think it would work. I used it for rats but the mice should be able to use it too.

Does this work with gerbils?
- Ball on bottle may be somewhat large for a gerbil producing too much water to come out if you have a petco nearby take a trip see what you think of size. 8 oz might be better
