My rabbit has diarrhea but is active. Should I still feed pellets?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male

Should I continue to give my rabbit any pellets if I found it's having diarrhea or should I totally stop their feeds for few days? My rabbit doesn't seem like very weak and he can still jump all over around even though it is having diarrhea for one day.

You should never withhold food from rabbits, they must constantly graze to maintain gut health and movement. Ensure the pellets are a high fibre formula and fresh (within date and not damp/musty) and i recommend you use a rabbit probiotic also. Contact your vet immediately if any change in appetite, weakness or reduced thirst is noted
