My rabbit's scent gland seems blocked. When should I see a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed

What is this and should I be concerned (I’ll take her in)? I just want to be sure this is something needing to be looked at

Thanks for reaching out about Loaf and including photos. This appears to be a scent gland, which is partially impacted. A moistened warm washcloth can be used to gently clean out this material. If the problems recurs, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan.
Good luck.
