My rabbit ate too many Oxbow vitamin C biscuits. Will she get sick?

The main issue with too much celery is that the water cintent could make the faeces runny and therefore upset the tummy. In rabbits an upset stomach can lead to a condition called gut stasis which is serious. If Mei is bright and passing normal faeces she should be fine. However, if she seems at all dull or is not passing faeces I would have her checked asap.

It shouldn't kill her, but it may cause stomach upset. Make sure she continues to eat and drink over the next couple days. Offer as much timothy hay, oat hay or similar grasses as she will eat. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or loose droppings. If she stops eating, have her seen by your veterinarian right away. Discontinue any treats for the next few days.

I'm surprised that Moxxi ate a Vitamin C tablet because they are usually very bitter. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so we don't need to worry about toxicity, but high levels of Vitamin C can irritate the stomach and cause diarrhea. I would be worried that Moxxi may develop some stomach upset from that level of Vitamin C. It would be worthwhile to contact your veterinarian if she starts vomiting or develops diarrhea. The biggest concern would be that she ate something she shouldn’t have thatcan’t be digested. If so, she may have a blockage or get gastric stasis. Keep a close eye on Mistie over the next day or two. If she stops eating, drinking or pooping, or if she becomes more lethargic than normal you will need to take her to see a vet.

Ultimately, there is no consensus on whether or not sugar free gum leads to toxicity in rabbits like it would in a dog. A larger concern would be whether or not you need to be concerned about a potential gastrointestinal obstruction occurring. I would not give her any additional hay, but if you are noting normal appetite, drinking, and bathroom habits this is definitely a great sign. Your choices would be the following at this point: continue to monitor at home for any changes in normal, or take her to the vet where they can administer some fluids / keep her overnight for monitoring. Onion could possibly be toxic but a fairly large amount needs to be ingested. Monitor appetite and defecation. Syringe feed if necessary. Hi there, Im curious as to why you want to add in vitamin C to Oliver's diet? Rabbits will get all the vitamin c they need from their diet, especially if they ate getting quality pellets supplemented with greens. Now guinea pigs do need vitamin c so maybe you heard that? I would definitely not give your rabbit human tablets as you will likely give a massive overdose which could lead to potentially serious issues with tge kidneys etc. If you really want to supplement vitamin c I would simply give the rabbit a little bit of irsnge each week.
