Why is my hamster's eye red, not eating, and drinking lots of water?

Whats the red thing on my hamster eyeball?? Im really worried please help. Also hes not eating much and drinks more water than usual not only that but he seems to want to sleep even when out of cage?

I am so sorry to hear that Cherry has an issue with his eye. Unfortunately I cannot see the issue clearly in this picture. The concern with eyes is that infections, injures, growths and inflammation can progress rapidly and may even lead to blindness. For this reason I would advise taking Cherry to see a veterinarian as soon as you can.

The fact that Cherry also seems systemically unwell; not eating, drinking extra water and lethargic, also means he needs to see a vet very soon. All these signs point to Cherry being in pain and possibly fighting an issue inside his body like an infection or even types of cancer.

I am so sorry that Cherry isn’t well. I hope he is able to be seen by a veterinarian soon who will start by giving him a physical exam to determine the exact cause of his issues.

It sounds like you have done all the home treatment you can do. Since it has not worked your only option at this point is to get her to a vet for an exam. She probably needs an antibiotic ointment for the eye to get this to clear up. Best wishes!

My hamster's eye is red. What are the possible causes and treatments?

This can be due to the presence of blood in the anterior chamber of the eye. Infections and trauma are common cause of it. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.

My hamster is lethargic with a small eye and red dot. Is she sick?

This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to respiratory to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. A picture of the red dot would be needed to understand its underlying nature. Conjunctival/corneal inflammation may be present. A check up is needed if the signs last for more than further 24hours. My hamster has a red crusty eye and is shaking. Is it serious?

The eye does look a bit irritated. You can clean the spot with a washcloth to help keep the eye open and clear, and to allow you to inspect it for any wounds or additional irritation. If it doesn't clear up on its own after a day or so, seems to worsen, or the crusting continues or worsens, it would be best to have it examined by a vet in person to rule out any injuries or infections in the eye that could be causing it.

I’m sorry to hear that Amber isn’t feeling well! I’m not able to advise on what may be causing the condition without seeing a photo, but a bulging eye is likely to be painful. She may be causing further trauma by scratching the area. I recommend carefully trimming Amber’s nails to prevent her from scratching the area. This may help along with the antibiotics.

My hamster's eye is pink, wet, and looks infected. What to do?

It does seems as Silva is suffering from an eye infection, you will need to take him to your vet ASAP in order to get the eyes checked, he will most likely need antibiotic eyedrops for a couple weeks.
