Hamster has an oozing head bump but seems fine. Does he need a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Im pretty sure my hamster has a tumor at the top of its head and there’s yellow ooze at the top of the bump but my hamster is showing any signs of pain and continues doing his regular favorite things should I immediately take him to a vet or let him be? Please respond asap

I'd have Hamlet seen by a vet. Hamsters can be good at hiding pain, and he could be in pain even if he isn't showing obvious signs of it. I wouldn't take him in as an emergency tonight, but I would have him seen by a vet this week. I hope this helps!
