My hamster has tiny bugs. Could they be mites? What OTC treatment?

It sounds like Jabah has mites or lice. You will need to get him to the vet for an exam for a proper diagnosis. They can give you the correct treatment for this problem. Over the counter mite/lice remedies don't work. You will need something prescription strength. The bugs are red because they are sucking blood from Jabah. Mites require medications from the vet in order to treat, there isn't an OTC product you can get for it. You will need to make an appointment for Ollie with a vet to confirm that he does have mites, and the vet can prescribe the appropriate treatment.
