Is my guinea pig's circular or teardrop poop healthy or normal?

Your photo is a little blurry but from what I can see here these appear to be normal guinea pig feces. If your guinea pig starts having loose stools, stools that are very hard or is producing less feces or eating less these would be causes for concern.

As long as she is a eating, drinking and acting normally I wouldn’t be too concerned. Also, make sure she is pooping daily and not becoming constipated. If she goes without pooping or her behavior changes, then I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure she isn’t constipated. I hope this helps!

Make sure brownie has plenty of fresh grass hay such as Timothy hay as the majority of his diet. He will also need some supplementation with vitamin C powder's or liquid and the fresh fruits and veggies. On a balanced diet he shouldn't be having soft stools so you may just need to decrease the portion size of his fresh foods. Guinea pigs naturally eat the night poop, which is also called Cecotropes, it is a normal behavior and they all do it, you may or may not see them doing it (usually at night or early morning only). Cecotropes are nutrient-rich and are passed out of the body, like feces, but are reingested by the animal so the nutrients can be absorbed. Cecotropes have twice the protein, and half of the fiber of the typical hard fecal pellet. They also contain high levels of vitamin K and the B vitamins.

Hi there, I’m sorry to hear that Boog isn’t well. He should have normal, formed, firmed fecal pellets. If the feces is slimy or unformed, it is abnormal. If the feces is abnormal than I would recommend taking a fecal sample in to be tested. Likewise, if you cannot find the source of the smell, you should take Boog in to be examined to make sure nothing too serious is going on. I hope this helps. This can be caused by parasites, dietary indiscretion or poor diet. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites. Treat if indicated. Discontinue feeding any fruits or vegetables for now. Feed only timothy hay and a small amount of pellets daily. Once the stool is normal, you can gradually offer tiny bits of vegetables. Limit fruit though to prevent diarrhea or obesity.

Thanks for reaching out about Miss Piggy. Yes, soft stool can be a result of stress, but stress also lowers the immune system that can lead to bacterial overgrowth or parasitic overgrowth. Since she is still eating well and acting well, try limiting her diet to hay only for 1-2 days, to see if that will firm the stool. Vegetables and fruit can be too rich for the diet and lead to soft stool also. If the clinical signs does not improve, seek an appointment with a veterinarian with experience in companion exotic mammals.
