Why does my guinea pig bite bars and squeak when seeing another pet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Guinea Pig | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 12 days old

Ever since Sebastian saw Cosmo he gets his moments when he will stop be he keeps biting the bars and squeaking, it's like when I grab a bag of treats how happy his sqraks sound....but is this a bad sign? Or is it aggression?

It may be excitement or it could be aggression. If you plan on physically introducing them, wait until Sebastian does not make the noises anymore and then put them together for ever increasing periods of time. If there is any aggression, separate them immediately.
