How much hay, pellets, and veggies for my 1-month-old dwarf rabbit?

Pellets should be limited to no more than 1/8 cup daily. You can feed a1 cup of vegetables per 4 pounds of body weight daily. Timothy hay or similar grasses can be offered in unlimited amounts. Alfalfa can be fed up until 7 months of age then discontinued.

At 12 week of age you can start to introduce vegetables (one at a time, quantities under 1/2 oz.). Same goes for her even though she is 16 weeks. Once she is 7-8 months or older you can add more gradually; make sure your rabbit can tolerate it so go slow. Once she is an adult (1- 5 years old) you should feed a minimum of 2 cups chopped vegetables per 6 lbs. body weight; always introduce vegetables and greens slowly to make sure your rabbit can tolerate them. Rabbits should be eating adult food by 6-7 months of age. Discontinue feeding alfalfa at that time also. Feed unlimited amounts of timothy hay, oat hay and similar grasses. Limit commercial pellets to no more than 1/8 to 1/4 cup daily for adults.

For an adult rabbit the percentages should be 85-90% hay ( timothy, grass hay, oat hay and so on) up to 10% veggies and up to 5% fruits (no more than 1 oz. per 3 lbs. body weight). The rest can be given in pellets.

A yearly exam should include a dental exam and teeth trimming if indicated. Symptoms of overgrown teeth include decreased appetite, drooling, pawing at the mouth, swelling or discharge.

Hi there. A high portion of the rabbits diet should be coming from Timothy hay. I usually recommend 1/4 cup per day of pellets per rabbit. It's best to just feed them grass, hay and pellets for baby rabbits until they are about three months old. After that, you can start feeding some greens, parsley and other fruits and vegetables. However, you do not want their diet to be more than 10% of these greens, fruits and vegetables. The diet should continue to be mostly grass and hay.
