Why is my female bearded dragon aggressive? Should I separate them?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

I have 2 bearded dragon in the same tank a male and female, shes been acting off and a little agressive only towards me not the male for the past week, while the male is acting normal. They have a sibling bond, but have tired to have sex once should I separate them or keep them together?

Thanks for reaching out about Puff and including a photo. Even if siblings, sharing an enclosure can be stressful. Males, especially during sexual maturation, exude pheromones that can be stressful to the others, male or female. Often bearded dragons do not co-habitate well together, and should be kept separate.
Good luck.
