My chameleon has a black and green mouth lump. Can it wait for vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Chameleon | Male | unneutered | 0.25 lbs

My juvenile panther chameleon has a small lump on the side of his mouth. The lump is black and has a green speck. I've heard it could be a burn or blister, and my local zoo-vet doesn't open until tomorrow.

Thanks for reaching out about Regin. Most likely this is an oral abscess. Chameleons have greenish pus. If Regin is still active, he can probably wait until your veterinarian is available tomorrow.
Good luck.
