My blue-tongued skink has crusty, swollen eyes. What should I do?

Hi my blue tuonged skink has crusty scales around her eyes and under them is swollen i think it is an eye infection but i dont have any reptile vet withing 200 miles that i can find to take a look a her please help

Have her examined by your veterinarian. He or she may be able to consult, by phone or online, with a specialist to reach a diagnosis and to obtain treatment information. The larger veterinary reference labs offer consultation services with a wide variety of specialists as well.
Trauma, infection, nutritional deficiency or environmental issues can all cause issues with they eye. Confirm proper diet, temperature and humidity. Choose a safe substrate and survey the enclosure for any object that may potentially cause injury.

My bearded dragon's eye is crusty and shut. What's the problem?

Sometimes, the eyes will appear bulged just before shedding. This happens to both eyes though, not just one. Spyro's eye appears to be infected. This can be due to trauma, retained shed or foreign body (sand, wood, etc.). Ideally, Spyro should be examined by your veterinarian or an experienced herp veterinarian. The eye can be stained to diagnose corneal injury and flushed to remove any debris. If there is a retained eye cap, the vet may be able to remove it.

Check the humidity level. For beardies, it should range between 30 and 40%. Too high or too low can predispose Jank to infection or shedding complications. If a 20-30 minute warm compress doesn't help, have him examined by your veterinarian or experienced herp vet. A physical exam may diagnose or rule out abscess/infection or tumor. In either case, you'll need a vet to dispense medication or to pursue additional diagnostics (blood work, biopsy, aspirate, etc).

Unfortunately what i can tell you from your description and the pic is that this presentation is likely to be due to a severe conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well and eye must be fully examined. My Russian tortoise has swollen eyes; is it sick or hibernating?

Thanks for reaching out about Ketchup. Swollen eyes are likely infections, possibly due to a vitamin A deficiency. A veterinary visit is recommended. She is probably is not trying to hibernate but is weak/sick. Systemic antibiotics and vitamin A supplementation are also probably needed. A thermometer is needed to provide POTZ (Preferred Optimal Temperature Zone), which is require for immune stimulation and recovery. Good luck.
