My guppies are multiplying in my tank. How to rehome them locally?

A pet store won't be able to take them due to disease risk to their stock, regardless of how healthy they are. You could advertise them as free to a good home on a buy and sell site. You can't just put them into a body of water as they wouldn't be used to it and would not survive. You don't necessarily have to keep them in a tank, even a large plastic box/ bucket would do.

I would advise contacting your vet office and see if they can help you place them. They often have a list of clients seeking pets. Other avenues would involve your local humane society, pet rescue groups, etc. These groups often screen potential adopters and would be a great resource. Thanks for reaching out. the ride home should not be too difficult but when introducing to the tank, equilibrate water temperatures first by placing the bag in the tank for 15-20 minutes. Then pour out 1/2 of bag water in the sink, then add that volume of tank water to the bag. Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes. The scoop out fish and add to tank. Don't pour bag water into tank and if parasites in water, will add more of them to tank. Finish cycling tank prior to getting fish. Good luck.

I agree and do not recommend to move the female. If your tank is big enough, you can usually purchase a breeder net and keep the babies in there. Otherwise I recommend to purchase many fake plants...etc to provide hiding so that some of the babies make it. Best of luck.

I'm assuming you meant that Lola is a rabbit. Unfortunately Petco does not accept pets for rehoming, but if you contact your local store they might be able to give you the name of a rescue group near you. The local shelter would be another good resource. Thanks for reaching out. The general rule of thumb with good filtration is to have 1 " fish per 12 liters (3 gallons) of water. So starting with 10-15 should be good, but remember babies increase the bioload significantly, so continue to monitor water quality and allow your biological filter time to respond. Good luck.
