My parrot fish has gill disease. What are the symptoms and treatments?

An airstone and pump will help, but an oxygen bottle would be better. As for a cause, a gill biopsy would be the first stop to rule in/out parasites or bacterial gill disease. Make sure to treat tap water for several hours prior to adding to the tank. If water quality is correct, a veterinary visit for assistance in a diagnostic/treatment plan. A gill clip can be examined under the microscope to determine parasitic or other gill disease. Don't see any signs of external lesion on the pictures, except fine erosion, and possible gravid fish. A veterinary visit is probably needed to trouble shoot for disease. Adding non-iodized salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons for 3 consecutive days might provide some osmotic relief but is not therapeutic levels.
