Can Zylkene help my dog's severe anxiety and behavior issues?

Hello. Zylkene is a supplement that is generally used in pets with mild chronic anxieties. In general, I can find no reference to a tolerance building up in pets that use this long term ( months ), so you should keep a written diary of how your dog behaves on the Zylkene & if using it daily seems to calm her anxieties. If you think it is of some benefit, especially after 1-2 weeks of daily use, then I would continue it daily for an additional 2-4 weeks. Then, try her on every other day. Supplements are a trial & error & generally will not work as well as a prescription anxiolytic will work. So try it daily & do not worry about Kiwi building up a tolerance. Poor Zora! She does sound like a very anxious girl. If you would like to try a natural calming supplement of some kind, I would suggest Zylkene or Composure - both of these are very safe, and I have seen good results with them in some patients. There are a number of other medications that can be tried for Montana, such as Paxil, Zoloft, Clomicalm, diazepam, and lorazepam among others, but only your vet can decide if one of these drugs are appropriate and safe to use in him. You can try using a DAP which is a pheromone diffuser that can help dogs with anxiety. You can try using a Sentry calming collar, which releases pheromones when it comes in contact with his skin. I would discuss with Montana's vet if any other drugs are appropriate for use in him.
