The anaesthetic can stay in the system up to 24 hours which could still be effecting him. Alternatively he could be uncomfortable down there following the procedure. I wouldn't worry about it as yet if he seems bright but I would certainly get it checked out if it continues for a few days. Let him out often to try and avoid accidents.

Yes it can be. Sirius had anesthesia, a surgical procedure and medications for pain. His routine was changed and his eating and drinking also. Most likely they gave him fluids during the procedure that can cause increased urination. Please go back to his housebreaking training. I recommend keeping him in a crate when you’re not home, and taking him out frequently for potty breaks. Reward him and praise him when he goes outside. When you’re home keep Sirius on a leash with you so he’ll ask when he needs to go, and he can’t sneak off somewhere and mess in the house. It sounds like your vet did all the right things. You could do a urine culture as a double check for an infection (although that would be very uncommon in an adult male dog). I would be starting to get concerned about a tumor within the penis or possibly a neuromuscular issue preventing normal urine flow. If your vet is out of ideas (as I am), the next step would be going to a specialist, probably an internist.

He could have some inflammation from the neuter or a brief lapse in house training from the stress of the surgery and anesthesia. He could also have a urinary tract infection. I recommend calling your Vet Monday and see if you can drop off a urine sample. They can test the urine for infection. If he has a urinary tract infection then they can prescribe antibiotics. If hes doesn't have an infection ask if they can prescribe and anti-inflammatory, if he isn't on one already from his neuter, in cause it's just some inflammation. If the area is too swollen for him to urinate (ie the urine cannot be evacuated through the opening prepared by the surgery), then this needs to be rechecked by your veterinarian. He could also withhold urinating due to pain, so make sure you give him the pain medication given to you for him by the vet , or get some from the vet for a few days. Any movement, including pressing to poop, probably hurts, so Ginger may try to avoid eliminating. Again, pain medicine is necessary to help him eliminate without fear and pain. Food wise, I suggest you feed him the food he is used to, do not abruptly changed his diet. If Ginger does not urinate within another 23 hrs, it is an emergency and he must be seen by the vet.

Eric's incision does look red with some bruising around his scrotum but in this picture it looks like it is intact with no obvious evidence of any problems. The constant urination is odd - if he had IV fluids with his procedure this could be the cause. 24 hours seems like a little long to still be urinating from fluids so you also might want to check in with your vet to see if they would recommend an exam.

Hi there. It's very common to see some scrotal bruising after a neuter surgery, especially in an adult dog that's fairly active. So as long as the dog is acting normal and not having any bleeding or discharge from the surgery site, this doesn't normally concern me. I would suggest restricting his exercise as much as possible for the next 7-10 days, and using an e-collar (plastic cone) to make sure that Milo isn't licking or chewing at the area. You can also hold a warm (not hot!) washcloth on the bruised area for 5 minutes a couple of times a day, if he will tolerate this, to help the bruising resolve more quickly. If the swelling seems to be getting worse instead of better, or if there is any bleeding or drainage, or if Milo starts to act like he doesn't feel well (not eating, excessively painful or lethargic, etc.), then I would recommend taking him back to the vet for a recheck visit.
