  Great question and good on you for getting Lottie and the father fixed after this pregnancy! That's very responsible ownership. While you are correct that it is recommended to wait longer between pregnancies, there's no need to give her any supplements. It's not recommend to give pregnancy dogs supplements during pregnancy as it can lead to serious problems. Excess calcium above the amount provided by a high quality diet suppresses parathyroid hormone production, and increases the bitch's risk of puerperal hypocalcemia. Excess vitamin A has been associated with congenital defects, including cleft palates. Dogs produce sufficient vitamin C of their own and do not require supplementation. Excess vitamin D may complicate the calcium mobilization ability of the bitch. Continue to feed Lottie her high quality dog food, make sure she sees the vet regularly during her gestation period for health checks, and call the vet immediately if there are any problems or concerns during her whelping.
