You can, but in moderation. I would stick with the recommended high calorie puppy food instead since it has all the nutrients and healthy calories that Coco needs during her pregnancy and then up until all the puppies are weaned. Congrats!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I recommend feeding a pregnant dog puppy food. MOST dogs do not need a calcium supplement. Little breed dogs are at a higher risk of low calcium. Low calcium IF it will be a problem, occurs after birth during the first few days with large litters nursing or in small breed dogs. I wouldn't start a calcium supplement until all the puppies are born. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Pregnant bitches should be fed a high quality, complete food and should be fed the puppy stage from 6-7weeks plus to ensure a higher calorie intake. They should not need extra supplementation and be sure not to over supply calcium as this can predispose to eclampsia during birth or nursing

I'm not sure where you have been reading that Sugar needs an egg daily because that isn't a typical recommendation. I would stop giving her eggs. The only food she needs is a high quality dog food, and she should go off the puppy food starting now. Pregnant dogs should be taken off it when they are 48 days pregnant. Well that is quite simple actually. Pregnant dogs only require puppy food which is higher in calories and provides exactly what she needs to maintain a good milk supply and muscle mass during her last trimester. You should start about halfway through her pregnancy and continue this food daily until she has completely weaned her puppies (at 3-4 weeks of age). You don't really need a daily food chart, just feed her the normal amount of food that you would feed her on a regular basis an she should be just fine. It is also a good idea to get her examined around day 45 by a veterinarian to find out how many pups she is having (via x-ray) and also for a general health exam to make sure mama is in good medical condition for her upcoming labor. You need to make sure that she is fed a high quality dog food, such as Royal Canin or Hill's Science diet. Make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments, and her flea treatments as well. Revolution spot on flea treatment is safe to use in pregnant dogs. She should also have access to plenty of fresh water at all times. Do not give her any vitamin supplements, as too many vitamins can cause birth defects in the puppies, such as cleft palate from too much vitamin A. A high quality dog food will provide all the vitamins she needs to be healthy.
